Since we are getting a new world and the old rulebook is gone, we will take this opportunity to update the rulebook. We're opening this thread so that the community can tell us in what ways the rulebook needs updated. All I ask is that any use of profane language be avoided in your response as children may read this thread and they do not need to read that kind of language. Thank you.
Pre-approved changes, submitted for discussion:
Edit by Knootmare:Remember that with the release of the new server, we will likely be releasing a revised redstone-rules guide. Refer to the Redstone Rules thread to suggest changes.

I think the rules were pretty much good in my opinion. What I would do it take your reports and /helpops and put those into consideration, the ones that you can remember.

I'd say within 1000 or 750 blocks. 500 at the least. Regarding distance for claims near warps/spawn for expiration reduction.

I think that what "spam" is should be better explained

Also the no advertising rule is kinda strict. By what mods have said technically I could get banned by asking a friend in rl that plays SS to join a cool server. I don't approve of advertising in game but on a different website (outside of forums) i think you should not get banned unless you continuously pester people about it.

Previously it was 1,000 blocks away from spawn/warps before the 100 block rule came into effect if I remember correctly, I think we should stick to that. everyone will be steve and have limited claimblocks when they join, the claims wont be huge for a few days unless they grind a lot, and some people might. Even after a few days of people voting, if they say.. vote for 3 days straight.. the 100 for when you join (unless you guys plan to raise it for the first few days or something) and then 900 (300 each day) thats only 1,000 claim blocks is only about a 31x32 claim, which really isnt that big if it goes 1K blocks out. Gives plenty of space to be near spawn and will take a bit to fill up depending on the number of warps and how many people join that actually care about getting claims near warps. I think it should at least be 2 months (60 days) though instead of half the time.

I don't approve of advertising in game but on a different website (outside of forums) i think you should not get banned unless you continuously pester people about it. The problem with this, as you can see with UltraDragon29's ban appeal, it is bypassing a warning. Since he couldn't do it on SS, he decided to trick a person into advertising to him on a different platform. While this is technically out of the mods reach, he should still be warned none the less for trying to bypass, especially if brought it the attention to the in game mods. So um I know there is a flaw here but I'm done, so plz continue the argument with out me.

This is not so much a rule as a server setting I'd like to see relaxed a bit. The very quick disappearance of dropped items just drives me crazy. I'm the kind of idiot who hates to waste anything, so it tears my heart out when the blocks I've knocked off a jungle tree vanish before I can get down to them.
I know this a performance enhancement and that the vanilla timeout is too long, but maybe it doesn't have to be shortened quite so much?

People will play where they want and there are a lot of fun places.

Is it possible that we can take out the rules of hacking and using clients? I cant efficiently play without hacks and clients.
P.S. I am joking and being sarcastic

I think that what "spam" is should be better explained I explained that all in detail, there is a link to the chat rules in the main rules thread. Here it is so you don’t have to go searching: What is/is not allowed in public chat? In PMs? For a complete list see here: bit.ly/2luDQtx (List will be updated as needed)

I say about 1000 block radius is fair enough 500 might be a bit better considering I guess I'm one of those who prefers the 1000 block radius. I don't build near the warps and prefer to be as far out as possible simply so I have the chance to bring my vision of the area to life. I'm not exactly a mega builder but more in the style of RPG and landscaping. My biggest problem is encroachment because I don't often have the claim blocks all set and ready to go. I'd perfer to keep the 1000 block rule for the areas beyond warp.

What about allowing flying machines? Many semi auto farms that use flying machines cause a lot less lag.

What about allowing flying machines? Many semi auto farms that use flying machines cause a lot less lag. And just or ally simple ones that do virtually nothing except send someone into the sky.
