Ban Reason: "Disrespecting" another player by having a sethome inside a farm.
Person Who Banned You: Nut
Length of Ban: 30 days
Appeal:
I do not see how having a sethome inside a farm is considered disrespect. I find that this situation is simply a stretch of the rules, created to find a way to ban me.
Here is what happened in a short version: (Based on memory since much of it was weeks/close to a month ago) The player asked me not to use their farm as it was private. From there, I only afk'ed at the farm, since a friend had the player's permission to use it. Then, the friend generally used the farm, while I may have helped them out with it on a few occasions. They saw me helping my friend at the farm. They talked to a staff member (Shadow if I remember correctly) and then Shadow sent me a message asking me to stop using the farm. Today, many weeks later, I received a message from Nut informing me I was going to be banned for 30 days due to my sethome. I asked why, and they replied due to player disrespect by having my sethome. From there, we had a short conversation, and they told me to create an appeal.
Additionally, I would like to point out that while at the farm I have never obtained a skull.
Now, I will break down the story, and appeal.
If my sethome had been such a big problem, why wasn't it just removed by the staff, or why wasn't I simply asked directly to remove it, and given a set amount of time to do so? Had I been given the choice to remove it or be banned I would've gladly removed it. The staff team decided to let this situation escalate unnecessarily, and I feel they only did that to find a reason to ban me.
I'm curious why all these weeks later, I'm being banned for this? I'd assumed that since my sethome were there, I was fine. If they were such an issue, why was I not directly asked to remove them by a staff member, or informed I was going to be banned if I didn't? I almost forgot about the issue completely.
Having a sethome inside an unauthorized area is nowhere in the rules... I've seen many people who have unauthorized sethomes inside the SWC somehow. I've never done anything about it because there is nothing in the rules which allows me to do so. While I do agree that yes, it is fair to have a sethome removed, a 30 day ban for having one is simply grasping at straws.
Conclusively, I would like to say that my ban is unfair, and a stretch of the rules. I haven't had contact with the owner of the farm for weeks, and we have been on at similar times, so if they had wanted, they could've contacted me directly. The sethome shouldn't have been an issue, and if it was this much of an issue, I feel I should've received some sort of notification I had x amount of time to remove it, or it should've just been removed by staff. Additionally, there aren't any rules which cover this, so there is no basis for the ban, and the staff team did nothing about it, and simply allowed it to escalate.
Please take the time to reconsider this, as 30 days is way too long for such a trivial offense if it even can be called an offense.
