Could have easily taken steps to prevent this but he didn't Agreed but that's beating a dead horse at this point and probably counter-productive in improving the current state of the server while it's still being brought up.

Cool to see this thread, submitted my survey. A couple of things I wanted to leave here...
First, I played a lot on this server a while (years) back, but like someone said, reached maxxed out gear, lots of diamonds, etc. and it kind of grew stale. When I saw the server was reset it actually got me back. But I fear that it will get stale again. I love to build - btw if I am not super social in game its because I am building and not seeing chat.
I would love to see some build contests. Maybe throw up a creative world with huge plots and let us take a crack at things like a new spawn, game arenas, etc. Maybe contest winners get architect or builder rank and and take on other building projects on the server.
One of those needed build projects, the server needs a central shop area. It can have a tutorial on building the dropper shops, and plots for players to claim for shops. I think the #1 reason everyone land-grabs at each warp (which annoys me) is to have an easy place to advertise their shop. If there were a shop area, this would be a huge problem solver. It would lower warp-derps, people looking for things could go to one location, more people can sell stuff, etc.
I like this server and that it's not bogged down with add-ons. People who do not like it might want to look at a towny, jobs, mcmmo, economy, etc servers. This is semi-vanilla.
My $0.02

People who do not like it might want to look at a towny, jobs, mcmmo, economy, etc servers. This is semi-vanilla. My $0.02 I agree with your first point, as many old players leave once they get maxed out and the game gets boring. On the topic of a separate creative world, a creative world isn't feasible because multi-world is not an allowed plugin. Additionally, if a central shopping area was built, it would run into the same problem as warps. Players would be rushing for the best spots, and those who aren't fast would get the less desirable plots. It would also create a lot more work for the staff team, and it would be hard to zone. Finally, it would make many players abandon the warps, and it would be hard to sell items since many players may sell the same item. Sadly, I think that only your first idea is feasible, but you were very vague, so I advise you be more specific.

We need a person with more authority that the mods, who is on frequently. Someone who has been here for a long time and knows everything. That person needs to be active in chat too. Basically describing that fact that we need a new admin. Mods don’t have enough control sometimes.

I've been here since begin august 2016, atm play throughout the day european time and i'd like to share some additional points of observation/thoughts and a brief explanation afterwards:
Staff
-I didn't know some of the names of the list, is there an activity issue within the mod team? I've had different kind of activity this past year, from playing 8 hours a day for a week to not being online for a month or 2. To be honest some of the admin names doesn't ring any bells for me. I may have seen them online at one point in time, but I can't base an opinion on someone I haven't had the chance to interact with or hardly seen online. Recently i've seen only a select few of the mod team on the server, and atm I'm logged in throughout the day.
-chatmod rank is useless, new recruits should be assistant mod righ away. I get the idea behind a trial period of new mods to see if they have what it takes. But chatmods don't have any form of power/permission other than chat related things (if i'm correct?) not even sure if they can ban people. Recently when traveling I stumbled upon the "new" capital and in a house I saw a "poop" sign spelled out in dirtblocks. The only (chat)mod online was Meloria and she couldn't even tp to me, she litteraly had to walk all the way, note down coordinates and inform another mod about it.
-timezone activity. From what I've observed so far is that during usa night/european morning/asia late afternoon the only chatmod online is Meloria, and sometimes shadow when he is off on one of his in-the-middle-of-the-night shenanigans. Is there a list of mods when they are most likely active? And are there plans on recruiting additional mods for this time area? It's a time that only has about 15-30 players online but sometimes no mods at all. I've haven't came across an instance where a mod online was needed (for example for excessive spam) since the other players usually call eachother out for language/spam/etc, which does the trick most of the times. But an additional mod wouldn't hurt.
-lack of administrator, and I think safe survival needs one(possibly 2). Currently (I think?) the top rank within staff team is full mod. But full mod can only solve the regualar ingame things like griefs/xray/chat but seems to have very restrictive permissions handling server problems as was seen during the month before the reset. Basically everything needs to go through the owner, this works very restrictive. Doesn't mean this is entirely a bad thing if it works this way. But during the last few server problems i've witnessed mods with their hand in their hair figuring out how to deal with the situation as well as they can with the limited permission that they have.
-streamline rule implementation. Some already pointed this out but sometimes the rules (especially chat rules) get inforced differently by mods. Use of "language" is an example that even the words like "dumb" was pointed out sometime? (could be wrong, I think I've read that somewhere). Or personally being pointed out for "emotive roleplaying" few months ago saying something along the lines of "*pats -insert name here- on the head* 'there there' " while witnessing some payed ranks doing it all the time and not getting pointed out. It's just some minor stuff that needs to be worked on. At the end of the day we are all only human, we don't know everything, we each have our own ways.
Server
-lack of long lasted incentive. We all know that feeling; starting something new on a server, building a house, challenging yourself to build something bigger/set a goal, get your stock filled and then suddenly being left with the feeling of boredom. For those that like to chat a lot with other people this isn't as much of an issue than for those that have been here silent in the background, those that only focus on building basically (like me). There is a lack of incentive for those kind of players to stick around, some might occupy themselves long enough with big projects but things like a server reset is basically demotivating or the lack of spotlight.
-ignoring newer players. It's made like a game saying "welcome" to new players but the moment they have questions they get ignored (mostly during peak time). You can say that the chat gets crowded and little groups of people happily chat with eachother causing to easily overseen a message from a player that you don't know. I sometimes witness newer players asking the same question several times till the point even I (who hardly chats at all) message them to answel them, I sometimes even get a message back saying "thanks, i've been asking for half an hour. Not much can be done about this though, just need to raise the awareness of this for people to keep an eye out.

Nekkid I agree with many of your points on here especially the one on newer players. Sometimes newer players just don't know how the server works so they ask questions, and these questions sometimes get lost in chat especially during peak times. I try my best to answer these questions, but no I don't answer all because sometimes I just don't see them. I know not much can be done about it but it's still good to raise awareness for people to keep an eye out like u said

Submitted at 2am on the last day.
I am a full time student and part time worker, so I don't have time to play on the server anymore. I spend my monthly day of procrastination playing modded with my friend. Maybe next year.

The toxicity is very high. Just before the reset I saw a new member advertising a town that I dident know existed. Right after that a player who had been on SS for a good amount of time advertised their town saying that theirs was better. After that the first player left the game and I dident see him come back on. Simple things like this are making safe survival hard for newer players. Safe survival has turned from a server where we work together into a cut-throat business world.

I feel like suggestions are ignored. Bans are passed around like free candy and ban appeals are ignored as well.

I feel like suggestions are ignored. Bans are passed around like free candy and ban appeals are ignored as well. Bans aren't passed around too much honestly. Ban appeals are sometimes buried, but never forgotten, and I know that many suggestions, are looked at and validated by looking through the old suggestion forum posts, and you can noticeably acknowledge the ones that were good ideas, and were used. If you don't hack, you have nothing to fear.
