So, I've been planning on getting a new pc for awhile now but with our second baby a month from entering the world now things have been a lil tight. However, I don't know much about the physical components of a pc so I'd like to get a better grasp on that before making a commitment. I'm sure some of you guys know plenty about the topic so I figured I'd see if yall could help me out. I only need to run a single monitor. But, I'd like to be able to run newer games with reasonable settings at like 60fps. I would even be ok on low-med settings with good fps if I could keep a lowish budget. That said could I get some insight on what processors, graphics, ram n spec combos I should be looking at? Could I build a pc much cheaper on my own? I feel I could use google well enough to stumble through building 1 if it will save me enough for the trouble.
Edit: Hopefully this is the right place to post this, sorry if not

What's your price range?
Need to know this so I can recommend you good specs.
Tips:
- NEVER and I mean NEVER buy PC's from Alienware, or Best Buy, or any prebuilt pc. They are trash and expensive.
- Best thing to do is buy a custom one (Which you choose specs) or even better, build your own! I currently am saving up to do so.
- Pick good websites to buy custom pc's or specs, such as:
PcSpecialist Chillblast Gladiator PC OverClockers
Just some that I can think of.
- Buy mags, like "PC Gamer". They give a lot of insight and also have a buyers guide.
Once you tell me how much you will spend, I'll go into more depth into specifically what to buy.

I think you can build a good gaming PC for pretty cheap. I myself just put an old Nokia phone into a box and plugged it into a computer screen.

PCpartpicker is also a wonderful website to assemble pc parts and make sure they are compatible. Along with giving help finding the best deals.

I'd recommend using Newegg, they have a large selection of parts at a pretty reasonable price range.

Well if I'm building it and buying piece by piece I could spend more since it wouldn't be a "lump sum" kinda purchase. I'm trying to stay under 800, and 5-600ish would be ideal but I see nothing prebuilt that's even decent at that price. Dr_Positive that website is awesome. I see a build with a pentium g4560 and geforce gtx 1050 ti for just under 500 which is awesome price wise but i know nothing about that processor. I see the gtx 1050 pop up alot and seems to be well received but again I'm new to all this lol.
